Renovation of Front Stairs

The Office Centre has three front staircases, creating a true Petersburg atmosphere. Professional restorers were invited to participate in the project and their task was to effect a complete reconstruction of the stairs according to the different periods in which each was constructed.

The historical railing was preserved and colors popular in those days were selected. The steps, which had been harmed by time and which were not eligible for polishing, were restored with inserts in the European tradition of restoration.

Experts in restoration always pay special attention to these "scars of time". It was a very difficult task to find the right Putilov stone; moreover, its contemporary quality is incomparable to the original!

The stairs are decorated with numerous paintings according to the tradition of those times. The paintings represent outstanding events in Russian history: the War of 1812, the Russian-Swedish war in 1703, and black-and-white photos of St. Petersburg bridges from the early 20th century.
